The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing the day-to-day AP operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, payments, and related financial tasks. This role supports the Finance  department in maintaining organized, compliant financial records, strong internal controls, and various reporting and administrative tasks to ensure smooth financial operations.

Perigon Wealth Management is a rapidly growing independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) based in San Francisco, CA. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Monitor the Accounts Payable inbox daily to review and process vendor and client invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with vendors and internal teams regarding payment status, invoice and payment discrepancies, and other AP-related inquiries.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure invoices are accurately coded and submitted for approval according to company procedures.
  • Collect and maintain updated vendor information and AP documentation in Bill.com.
  • Assist with month-end close by preparing AP-related reports and schedules.
  • Review corporate credit card transactions and employee reimbursement requests, follow up internally to complete missing information and ensure compliance with company policy.
  • Assist the Billing Specialist by entering solicitor and advisor payments accurately and supporting other billing-related tasks as needed.
  • Support audits, internal reviews, and ad hoc projects by preparing AP documentation, reports, and other assignments as required.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s in accounting/finance (preferred); 1–3 years in AP or general accounting; experience in high-volume environments
  • Proficient in QuickBooks, or Oracle; experienced with AP tools like Bill.com or RAMP; strong Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
  • Basic accounting principles; ability to resolve invoice/payment issues; familiarity with 1099s and sales tax (a plus)
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, strong communicator; able to work independently and cross-functionally
