Varun's Bio
Varun serves as Managing Director, Corporate Development at Perigon, where he is a key member of the management team responsible for driving the firm’s inorganic growth efforts. He specializes in driving strategic partnerships and acquisitions across the wealth management landscape, focusing on high-quality independent practices, breakaway teams, and adjacent professional services firms. Through flexible, bespoke deal structures, Varun aligns long-term value creation while preserving the culture and essence of firms that partner with Perigon.
A growth and corporate development leader, Varun brings over 15 years of experience specializing in scaling wealth management platforms. Prior to joining Perigon, he served as Chief Growth Officer at Kovitz Investment Group, a Focus Financial subsidiary, scaling the platform from $8 billion to $40 billion under his leadership. He also previously co-led U.S. West Coast M&A efforts for Focus Financial Partners, an RIA aggregator, and was an M&A banker at Guggenheim. As a seasoned M&A leader, Varun has executed over 40 transactions worth more than $30 billion in Enterprise Value. His early career was focused on financial services, starting out as a CPA at Deloitte before moving into consulting for Fortune 500 companies and running an entrepreneurial venture of his own.
Varun works out of Perigon’s San Francisco office and resides in the Bay Area with his wife and two children. Outside of his professional endeavors, he is an avid cyclist and golfer who enjoys traveling and exploring new destinations.
