Position Overview

The Trading Manager will lead the trading function at Perigon Wealth Management and be responsible for developing and driving implementation of scalable trading processes across the firm that ensure accuracy, efficiency and compliant trading execution in line with the firm’s investment strategies and client goals. You will be responsible for leading trading team meetings, mentoring and providing ongoing learning opportunities for traders on the team. You will work closely with the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) and advisory teams to maintain optimal portfolio management, ensure efficient execution of daily trades, and monitor market conditions. This position requires a deep understanding of financial markets, the Orion/Eclipse trading platform, compliance regulations, and portfolio management.

We manage approximately $9 billion in client assets as a fee-based fiduciary. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Maintains and continually improves upon trading systems, processes, tools, and software used by the firm to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Trains new hires on Perigon trading processes and works with newly acquired advisory teams to ensure successful transition to Perigon trading practices
  • Implement and monitor best execution practices to minimize trading costs and enhance the firm’s execution efficiency.
  • Monitor portfolio positions to ensure that they align with the firm’s investment guidelines and strategies.
  • Manages key Perigon trading processes of ongoing portfolio review reports (e.g. weekly cash review, quarterly rebalancing and tax loss harvesting reviews) to Advisor teams.
  • Perform managerial responsibilities including but not limited to, 1 on 1 meetings with direct reports, annual performance reviews, PTO approval, hiring process, etc.

Skills and Required Competencies 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Series 7/63 certifications preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of Orion Eclipse trading software
  • Team management experience
  • Minimum of 6-10 years of experience in investment management, trading, or related roles within an RIA, asset management firm, hedge fund, or similar financial institution.
  • Strong knowledge of trading practices, portfolio management, and execution across various asset classes (equities, fixed income, derivatives, etc.).
  • Familiarity with compliance regulations and industry best practices (e.g., SEC, FINRA).
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
